Lunar Eclipse – December 10,2011

Lunar eclipse can only happens during a full moon, where the moon slowly moves into the earth’s shadow and blocks the sunlight that reaches our closest heavenly body. Saturday, December 10, 2011, the entire event is visible from Asia and Australia. For North Americans, the eclipse is in progress as the Moon sets with western observers favored by a larger fraction of the eclipse before the moon settings. Observers throughout Europe and Africa will miss the early eclipse phases because they occur before moonrise.
People around the world have enjoyed the last total lunar eclipse until next  2014. The moon was totally eclipsed 51 minutes and 8 seconds.
